Short Film Festival in Palm Springs

Looking for a fun and slightly different way to end your summer? Why not head out to Palm Springs for the Festival of Short Films from August 24-30th.

"The Festival will showcase 73 World Premieres, 56 North American Premieres and 16 U.S. Premieres. The selection of films for screening and competition features star-studded casts as well as award-winning films from 43 countries around the world. All selections have been structured into 48 themed programs covering a wide array of issues for specific and general audiences to enjoy."

The lineup of 333 films can be found at psfilmfest.org for a complete list of this year's film programs. Film screenings include some from Nickelodeon, and a whole program from female producers.

2006 Coachella Valley Music Festival

Well I sit here tonight jealous, very jealous...of my well screened (I hope) guests in my vacation rental tonight who will go to 2006 Coachella Valley Music Festival tommorrow and Sunday and see some of my favorite artists. Indio is just down the street from my place, and my favorite city in the desert: Palm Desert. My hopes are that these guests are just music fans like me...even if my tastes don't match many others.

Franz Ferdinand

Pretty shallow - yup I guess so, but I'm sure I'd discover many new faves. Hey, I'm over 40! What about you?
